My name is Dongha and I am currently studying the medicine undergraduate foundation programme and ONCAMPUS UK North.

According to my agent, there was a lot of people in Korea that had successfully progressed to the medical school at UCLan and the programme itself was very supportive and helpful to them to progress.

Medicine for me is a combination of art and science and that art aspect is what drew me to the field of medicine initially, which emerges as a caring, empathetical doctor and patient relationship. Through my work experience I have solidified those beliefs to think that being a doctor is a vocation, something that I would like to dedicate myself to throughout my life.

I volunteered at the Oxford University Hospital and also I volunteered in a care home, where I had to be friends with the elderly patients with dementia.

Medicine is a lifelong journey and it requires a significant amount of dedication. By going through those experiences and seeing first hand what doctors go through on a daily basis really helped me to decide to become a doctor.

They supported us in a holistic way. Not only in academics but also activities for students to refresh. Teachers are obviously very professional. They are really proactive and they really listen to what students want.

Actually studying in the MBBS course, I would be more equipped in a clinical aspect and also to meet the patients, since UCLan offers patients contact in the very first term. So it will be really beneficial for students to have those skills in the early stage of the medical school and it is something that other medical schools do not offer commonly.
