Business, Economics, Finance and Management

  • A truly international Business department with extensive collaborations in Europe, China, the USA, India and Thailand.
  • Close links with professional bodies who accredit a number of the degree programmes at LSBU, including Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
  • Recent graduates have gone on to work for some of the world’s leading organisations such as Nokia, Lloyds TSB, Tesco and RBS.
  • BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance students benefit from ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) accreditation with nine paper exemptions (F1-F9).

Computing, Engineering, and Sciences

  • The University is ranked No.1 in London and 3rd in the UK among the modern universities for research in General Engineering (RAE 2008), and in the Top 20 of all UK universities. 95% of all research work submitted was rated of international quality.
  • Degrees are accredited by a number of professional bodies including the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED).

  • Architecture undergraduate degrees are accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), equivalent to Part 1.

Law, Humanities and Social Sciences

  • The University is fully accredited and recognised by the Joint Academic Stage Board of the Bar Standards Board for the single honours LLB degree and all law-major combined honours LLBs.
