Life on Campus

The University of Southampton has 5 closely-connected campuses in the city of Southampton, 1 in the nearby city of Winchester, and 1 in the Malaysian city of Iskandar Puteri. 

As an ONCAMPUS Southampton student you will be able to access all facilities across these campuses. Each campus is a community of related subject areas, with study spaces, libraries, cafes and restaurants. Some also have gym and sports facilities. 

Highfield Campus

Highfield is the oldest and largest campus, located close to Southampton Common. It's the academic heart of the University and home to social events, sports facilities and the Students' Union. ONCAMPUS Southampton students are able to become associate members of the Student Union for a fee of £75.

Highfields is home to Centenary Building, a brand new teaching and learning centre, which features an amazing 80-seat Harvard lecture theatre, private pod study spaces and bookable seminar rooms. There is a weekly market, a fully stocked shop, a student-run cinema, healthcare facilities and even a bank so all you need in one place. 

There is a Unilink bus which connects Highfield with the other campuses and a shuttle bus which makes it easy to travel to and from the Winchester campus.

Boldrewood Innovation Campus

This the University's newest campus and houses Engineering studies and research. Facilities include laboratories, a driving simulator, design studios, a 138m towing tank and a £48m National Infrastructure Laboratory

Avenue Campus

A short walk from Highfield campus is Avenue Campus, which is the base for most of the humanities subjects. This campus has its own library, lecture theatres plus a state-of-the-art £3 Archaeology building

National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS)

This waterfront campus, based at NOCS, is a leading research centre for the study of ocean and Earth science. Housing over 150 laboratories including the Coral Reef Laboratory and one of the biggest marine science libraries in Europe.

Winchester School of Art (WSA)

The Winchester campus is home to more 1,300 undergraduate and postgraduate students. WSA supports students with cutting edge resources, specialist computer suites, photography studios, laser cutting 3D printing, industrial sewing and knitting machines, screenprinting and much more.
