||You will need to arrive for enrolment at ONCAMPUS Paris
Obtaining a French Student Visa (Long-term Residence Permit), also known as Student VLS-TS (visa de long séjour valant titre de séjour).
Students who are not citizens of an EEA country (with the exception of Monaco, Andorra, The Vatican and San Marino), must obtain a residence permit for study before they travel to France. The authority responsible for issuing residence permits is the French embassy or consulate.
Once you are officially enrolled on the ONCAMPUS Paris programme and if you require a Student visa, you must apply through a visa service provider (TLS, VFS, CAPAGO or InfoVisa), or through the French Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence, for a Student residence permit (Student VLS-TS).
You can start your visa application three months before the start of the course. Where possible you should make your Student residence permit application online and make sure that you include the correct documentation. Please refer to the ‘Visa Application Journey’ document for further details.
Students can always contact the ONCAMPUS Paris team for assistance during the visa application process.
Student Visa Application Process
- Passport/travel documents (valid for at least 3 months longer than the Student visa expiry date)
- ID Photos
- Certificate of Registration issued by ONCAMPUS Paris
- Financial evidence:

- All documents that are not in French/English need to be translated into French or English
Once you have submitted your supporting documents, paid your visa application fee and enrolled your biometrics, you can track your application progress via the online portal depending on the service provider you applied with.
You will be notified when your passport is ready for collection. You can then travel to France with your Student visa. Please note that you will need to validate your Student visa within 3 months of arriving in France to obtain your Residence Permit.
What to bring with you
You will need to show your ONCAMPUS enrolment documents to the Immigration Officer on arrival so please make sure they are placed safely in your carry-on hand luggage.
French currency is the Euro. It is not possible to open a bank account in a French bank without a French personal number (which is only available to you once you progress to university) so we strongly advise you to bring your own credit card. Most credit cards are accepted in hotels, most restaurants, large department stores and tourist attractions. You can also use cards for small transactions and cash is being used less frequently in French cities. Please note that personal, traveler’s or international cheques are not accepted by French banks.
France generally enjoys cool winters and mild summers except along the Mediterranean where mild winters and hot summers are the norm. Average winter temperatures range from 32° F to 46° F and average summer temperatures from 61° F to 75° F. For the most warmth and sunshine go to the south of the country.
You will usually have a free baggage allowance, which will be shown on your air ticket; this is usually from 20kg with a restricted weight of 32kg per single item of luggage. Only essential personal possessions may be brought in addition to research materials. You may be charged for excess baggage if you exceed the baggage allowance, so check with the airline before you leave if you are not sure of your allowance. You should make a list of everything you bring.

Airport Taxi Transfers
An airport pick-up service can be a good option for a convenient transport method straight to your destination. A driver will meet you at the airport and transport you to either your ONCAMPUS Centre address or to your accommodation, whichever you prefer.
The cost for the transfer will vary depending on your chosen destination airport and campus. An example of this can be found below.

|Paris Charles de Gaulle
ONCAMPUS have identified one of the many providers you can use for your taxi transfer:
G7 is one of Europe’s leading taxi providers and has transported millions of passengers to their destinations. The drivers are carefully selected as passengers’ safety is of paramount importance to G7. The company boasts the largest fleet of hybrid and electric taxis in Europe. Transfers can be booked online, via telephone or via an app. Whatever your destination, G7 are committed to offering their best quality services.
You can access G7’s website and begin the booking process here.
Arrival & waiting times
Airports are busy places so, when completing your taxi booking online, we recommend choosing a longer wait time if possible. This will allow you ample time to exit the plane, clear passport control and collect your luggage. If you do get through quicker than expected, you can make use of the airport’s WiFi, food and drink vendors and toilets. You can also contact your driver and let them know you are ready and they may be able to arrive quicker than the agreed pick-up time. The taxi companies will track your flight and will be aware of any delays. After completing your booking, you will receive a confirmation from the taxi company which will include details of where to meet your taxi driver upon arrival.
If the airport you are flying into is not listed, or you are arriving into Paris another way and need some advice, please contact us at [email protected] and we can assist you.
Alternatively, fully regulated taxis are available 24/7 and cost about €50 to journey from Charles de Gaulle airport to KEDGE Business School (approx 34km). Taxis in France can be ordered in advance or found at taxi stops usually just outside stations.
Enrolment and induction
It is important that you attend Induction Week (whether online or face-to-face). Once you have registered at the ONCAMPUS office you will receive information about your induction. The Induction sessions will give you the opportunity to meet key ONCAMPUS staff and other students on your course. You will learn about the university, the centre and your programme of study, and join ONCAMPUS formally. Enrolment is the administrative process whereby you are admitted to ONCAMPUS as a student. It is part of your induction. On the first day of induction, we will tell you when and where your enrolment will take place. When you attend enrolment, remember to bring along all the essential original documents mentioned under Enrolment documents. Enrolment is an essential part of your induction. After you enrol, you are officially a student of ONCAMPUS Paris.
