David Collett

David Collett is located in the west park on campus and is close to the Engineering departments and University Library. The hall offers spacious rooms located in six different blocks and is named after the Chairman of the University Council from 1966 to 1982. 

Facilities

  • Catered Monday - Friday (10 meals per week, breakfast and evening meal) 
  • 7 - 14 students share kitchenettes (average 8 per kitchen) 
  • Card/mobile app-operated launderette 
  • Four common/games rooms with pool and tennis tables, Freeview and 40” HD TV (facilities subject to change) 
  • The University network and internet access are available by both wired and wireless network

Elvyn Richards

Elvyn Richards is located in the popular student village. This hall takes its name from Professor Elvyn Richards, the University’s second Vice-Chancellor from 1967 to 1975.

Faraday

Faraday is in the student village at the heart of the campus, consisting of 27 accommodation blocks of two and three storeys. This hall is named after the renowned scientist and former Director of the Royal Institution, Michael Faraday.

  • DVD, table football, pool table, darts and more (facilities subject to change)

Royce

Located in the popular student village, Royce consists of 19 accommodation blocks of two and three storeys. It is close to lecture halls, sports facilities, the library and is only a 20-minute walk from town. The hall is named after Sir Henry Royce, founder member of Rolls-Royce Ltd, a pioneer of aeronautical engineering in education.

Robert Bakewell

Located in the student village, Robert Bakewell hall is only a 5-minute walk from the library, a 5-minute walk from the EHB bar and a 10-minute walk to the Students’ Union. The hall is named after Robert Bakewell who was an eighteenth-century agriculturalist from nearby Dishley Grange.

Butler Court

Located in East Park, near the School of Design and Creative Arts and the rugby pitches. Butler Court is a very tight-knit community where morale is high and there is a great social life. The hall is named after Sir Clifford Butler, Vice-Chancellor of the University from 1975-1985.

Falkner Eggington

Named after Harold Everett Falkner, founder and former head of Aeronautical Engineering. Also Alfred Thomas Eggington, awarded the Military Cross in 1916, former headmaster of Loughborough College. Falkner Eggington is the largest self-catered hall on campus. With a unique mix of ages and cultures the hall is known for its community spirit and lively atmosphere.
