Wed 09 Jun 2010

Cambridge Education Group today announced major new partnerships with Birkbeck, Queen Mary, and Goldsmiths – all University of London colleges - to teach academic English language, Undergraduate and Pre-Master’s Foundation programmes on Birkbeck’s campus in Bloomsbury - the academic heart of the UK capital.

Using a unique ‘one base, many destinations’ model, London FoundationCampus will recruit and teach international students from a wide range of non-EU countries at the Birkbeck campus and prepare them for progression to Birkbeck, Queen Mary and Goldsmiths.

Steve Harvey, Managing Director of FoundationCampus explained, “We are very proud that Birkbeck, Goldsmiths and Queen Mary have chosen to work with Cambridge Education Group, which is testament to the quality of our teaching and the excellent development and progression of our students.”

Mark Wilson, Head of International Recruitment and Retention at Birkbeck, University of London said, “The partnership with Cambridge Education Group will attract a significant number of additional high calibre international students to London and we are therefore delighted to welcome FoundationCampus to Birkbeck.”

Birkbeck, Goldsmiths and Queen Mary are the latest partners to join a growing number of Higher Education institutions aiming to support their internationalisation objectives through a long-term partnership with FoundationCampus which is the only private sector provider of on-campus foundation programmes focusing exclusively on university partnerships in the UK.

Since launch in September 2008, hundreds of students have already attended FoundationCampus programmes at its three other university partnership centres across the country.
