Our third university partner: University of Coventry

We are delighted to announce our third FoundationCampus partnership with Coventry University.

On-Campus and guaranteed entry

Following our announcement of CEG’s new division, FoundationCampus, Coventry is one of three universities where students can study English language and foundation programmes on the university’s campus for guaranteed direct entry to its Undergraduate and Master’s programmes.

These new programmes, for which we are now enrolling for entry this September, offer students the following benefits:

  • an adult learning experience with university-age students
  • direct route to Coventry University
  • guaranteed entry to Undergraduate and Master's programmes
  • full integration with the university’s student community
  • enrichment of learning through sessional teaching by Coventry’s lecturers
  • accommodation on the University’s campus
  • full use of Coventry’s libraries and learning resources
  • full back up of CEG’s careers and university placement service if students don’t make the grade for entry to their chosen Coventry programme.

Focus on employment and teaching quality
At our CATS colleges we already offer pathways to the very best universities and our FoundationCampus partner universities have been selected for their focus on courses for employment, their impressive records of graduate employment and high graduate starting salaries. Some key facts about Coventry University are:

  • The Guardian League Table Rankings placed Coventry's Economics degree 13th in the UK.
  • The Sunday Times University Guide reported the following subjects as Excellent:
    • Business & Management
    • Economics
    • Geography, History and Politics
  • Quality Audit Assurance (QAA) review reported Excellence in the following subjects: Business & Management, Economics and Politics.

Links with industry
Situated in the Midlands, just an hour from London, Coventry has been an important industrial centre for over 100 years, which is why it was the most heavily attacked British city in WWII. Today it remains an industrial power-house and the University benefits from local links with companies such as Jaguar cars; further afield it has links with BMW, Cable & Wireless, Nokia and Ford, and was even one of only four institutions selected by Ferrari to design a Ferrari for the future. Clearly, these links enrich teaching with practical application and the opportunity for students to take a year out in industry.

As with our other FoundationCampus partners Coventry has a wide range of programmes which enjoy professional recognition and exemptions, such as by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Undergraduate and Master's pathways
Current Foundation pathways focus on Business, Economics, Finance, Management, Law, Humanities and the Social Sciences, leading to a range of Undergraduate and Master's programmes, including 24 different MBA programmes.

Affordable accommodation
We offer students great value accommodation at £78 per week and the Royal Bank of Scotland’s recent survey ranked Coventry as the 3rd most affordable city for study in the UK.
