Hi, my name is Mai. I have graduated from Master of Business Psychology from Aston Business School this year.

I choose to study at Aston University because of the location. Aston has a main campus in Birmingham city centre. So, I mean I have a chance to experience the bustling vibe of the big city and also study at the same time with a more reasonable price than London. Secondly, Aston is ranked in the 100th of the world Business School's, so I will meet a lot of proactive and smart business students in this course and experience and update the good knowledge from the lecturer.

During the time I studied at Aston, I joined many clubs but the most memorable club is the International Buddy Scheme, where I have time to engage with many other international students, to experience the British culture, especially in the Christmas day, New Year's Day especially, we have a lot of activity as a Brit. The meal together and we have a road trip to many famous locations in the UK, like Manchester or Bristol. We go to the football match. A lot of exciting activities.

I'm really impressed by the way Aston University supports students in the prepare transferable skill for the future career. During the time I studied in the Aston Business School, for all the students it's compulsory to enroll in the PDP Programme, this is the Personal Development Programme and they also have a Career's team to have student mock tests and prepare the mock interview before meeting with the employer.

During the pandemic, I'm very impressed by the way that Aston University helped students to hunting for jobs and improve their transferable skills in the new way of working. Aston University understands that the employer will expect you working from home and virtually working a lot after the pandemic. I'm personally involved in the Aston Business Clinic programme, which is a programme that lasts for two months. The first month I have been coached and trained by the very high professional coach in the how to work in the virtually, like presentation not in the traditional way but in the new way, like virtually teaching working with colleagues and team members from different time zones and different area of the world. The rest of the month, I'm working directly with the two clients, one based in Australia and one based in the UK and this is very helpful for me for my future career.

I hope that all the Vietnamese students who will come to the UK this year will be healthy and safe and don't worry to speak out, to share your difficulty during the time you study at Aston because I know that Aston is very empowered by international students and very supportive of every student.
