Aston University Alumni Stories | Numair Khan

So my name is Numair Khan. I'm from Pakistan originally. I am a graduate of 2019.  I did a Master's of Business Administration, commonly known as the MBA.

So I work for a clean energy group called Gentech. They have projects in Nigeria and Kenya and I work for  them in the capacity of a Financial Analyst and my background is in investment banking and stock brokerage research. Before that, I did my undergrad from University of Nottingham. I went  to the Malaysia campus. So I did my undergrad in Finance and Accounting from there.

I thoroughly  enjoyed my time at Aston. I guess university life is one of the best times of your life and I'm glad  I chose Aston. Multiple factors why I came to Aston. They gave me, they were very generous  in terms of scholarships. The MBA programme is also well ranked. It has a Triple Accreditation,  so only 1% of universities who have the MBA, have that.

Yeah, it felt like the right fit and I think  most of the campus is very centrally located, so it's very convenient. The MBA really gave us a lot  of practical knowledge. It was just not bookish academic things, a lot of things I still apply  today. It equipped me with the right tools and sort of skill sets to enhance myself in a more  senior role.

We had like a mentoring programme, where MBA alumni came and mentored us, so  that was also really nice. So the whole feel, pre and post coming to Aston was good.

Birmingham is  the best of both worlds. So it's cosmopolitan and bustling, as well you're you're in a big city. The  second biggest city in the UK. They have done a lot of development and it's really upcoming.  Also I'm a big Manchester United fan, so I would go to so many Manchester United matches.  

I would definitely recommend Aston to everyone and I'd probably send my kids there too. I mean  I just had a great time and made so many friends. I really miss, especially in the times we are now,  that one year and I wish I could go back and you know and relive those memories again.
