ONCAMPUS Loughborough celebrates opening of new centre

Following the announcement of the new partnership between Cambridge Education Group and Loughborough University in December 2022, ONCAMPUS Loughborough officially opened its new teaching centre on Thursday 2nd November.
The ONCAMPUS Loughborough centre is a newly refurbished centre for teaching in the heart of Loughborough University’s campus and offers international students a variety of pathway programmes to begin their studies in the UK. The university is based in Loughborough, a historic market town in the East Midlands that provides a welcoming location for international students to call home.
Loughborough University has an outstanding reputation for excellent teaching and student experience, having been awarded triple gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework this year, as well as for research on a global scale. The institution has also been consistently ranked in the top 10 of UK universities by the Complete University Guide 2017-2024. The university is praised by its students for its community spirit, offering international students an unrivalled experience to help them feel right at home.
The first cohort of ONCAMPUS students, representing over 45 different nationalities, have already begun to settle in after arriving in September, indicating a very successful first intake for the centre.
Professor Nick Jennings, Vice Chancellor and President of Loughborough University, says:

This partnership has allowed us to access international students we simply couldn’t before, and diversify our student community for the better.”
In attendance at the opening of the ONCAMPUS Loughborough centre was Brendan Webb, CEO, Commercial of Cambridge Education Group. In a statement at the event, he said:
“Welcome everyone to our brand new ONCAMPUS Loughborough centre, it’s great to be here today to celebrate together. A huge amount of work has been put in by many of the people in this room to ensure a successful start to this new partnership and it’s fantastic to see it come to fruition. It is a privilege to be able to partner with Loughborough University to launch this centre. From day one it has been important to all of us at CEG that we work together with Loughborough, learn from each other, and succeed in tandem.
And as the first cohort of international students settle in for their foundation programmes at ONCAMPUS Loughborough, we are proud to continue to support them in their academic endeavours.”
From September 2024, international students have the opportunity to progress from ONCAMPUS Loughborough to Loughborough University in subjects ranging from Art & Design, Business, Economics, Finance & Management, Engineering & Physical Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Life Sciences.
