This one-year (2-semester) programme offers successful students progression to Year 2 of a range of degrees
We offer guaranteed progression to our partner universities subject to achieving year 1 progression criteria and also the opportunity to progress to Year 2 to a wide range of degrees at other universities in the UK and Europe. In previous years students have received offers from:
Aston University, London South Bank University, Coventry University, University of Westminster and the University of Greenwich.
The International Year One (IY1) is offered at a number of our Centres, so whether you're looking for a big city experience in London or Paris, or a quieter, more cost effective option in Hull or Sunderland, there's an OnCampus Centre that is suited to you.
There are also a range of IY1 pathways to best suit your degree and career aspirations.
About International Year One
This programme is designed for international students who do not quite have the academic grades and/or English level to start the first year of an undergraduate degree in the UK, but have a stronger profile than a Undergraduate Foundation Programme student. This programme is set at level 4, and is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree in the UK.
Find out more about the IY1 from our programme guide.
You will be assessed by a variety of methods during your time with us. The intention is that you have a chance to experience the full range of assessment methods that you might experience at university when you start the second year of your chosen degree.
Assessments will normally include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination, and unseen written examinations.
Progression options can be found on each centre page or on our coursefinder.
