Why Choose SETU

Student Life

SETU offers a wide range of opportunities for students to get involved beyond the classroom. The university supports clubs and societies across social, cultural, civic, artistic, wellness, and performance interests. Students can join these groups throughout the year, and even propose new societies if their interest is not currently served. Sport plays a key role in campus life, with over 80 sports clubs and societies active across the Carlow, Waterford, and Wexford campuses, catering to both recreational and competitive interests. When it comes to living on campus, SETU’s City Campus accommodation in Waterford includes 94 apartments with 360 bed spaces, many with en-suite bedrooms and communal recreation areas.

Off campus, the university runs SETU StudentPad, a free platform for students to search for quality private rental housing near their campuses. To support students academically and personally, SETU’s Student Support Services offers a full suite of resources: counselling, disability support, careers development, international supports, peer mentoring, and more.
