About Galway Medicine
This programme is a full-time Undergraduate Medical Studies course delivered in Galway, Ireland and taught in English. Programme fees are €55,000 per year.
The aim is to provide a transformative education experience, in an inclusive environment that enables graduates achieve excellence in critical thinking, safe collaborative practice and communication skills, with a focus on patient-centred care that is sustainable, ethical, and equitable.

Entry Requirements
High school / secondary education (or higher)
The minimum academic entry requirements for Medicine at University of Galway are as follows:
- A levels – A A A is the minimum standard for entry to Medicine, including Chemistry and at least one other Science subject.
- IB – A minimum of 36 points to include 3 HL subjects with Chemistry and at least one other science subject (Physics, Biology or Maths). The third science subject can be presented at SL.
- Other examinations will also be considered e.g. National High School exams
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

Accepted proof of English proficiency: FCE, CAE or CPE, IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 90+
Applicants, whose first language is not English, must achieve an overall IELTS of 6.5 with no component less than 6.5 or a minimum TOEFL score of 90 (minimum – Listening 23 / Reading 21 / Speaking 22 / Writing 23).
In addition to the above minimum English Language requirements, applicants must successfully complete an interview with the School of Medicine at the University of Galway.
The certificate must be less than 2 years old.

To be considered for interview, you will need to submit the following documents:
Copies of school transcripts/examination certificates (including predicted grades if available).
A copy of birth certificate or passport.
English language certificate, for applicants whose first language is not English.
Evidence of funding.
A personal statement (typed) of no more than 500 words outlining your academic interests, sporting and/or cultural interests and your reasons for applying to University of Galway.
A letter of recommendation.
Details of any additional relevant experience.
