Student Cover insurance has been designed by Cambridge Education Group and education insurance specialist, Howden, who has 60 years’ experience providing insurance for students. Cambridge Education Group is an appointed representative of Howden and Student Cover is underwritten by Zurich Insurance Ltd., one of the largest insurers in the world.
Do I need Insurance?
It's compulsory for International Students studying with Cambridge Education Group to take out adequate insurance whilst studying with us in the UK. You do not have to choose Student Cover. You can arrange your own insurance if you prefer. However, if once you have read all the information provided you can choose for Student Cover to be added to your fees.
Please note, if you choose to arrange suitable alternative insurance you will need to show us evidence as part of the application process.
What insurance do I need?
Any cover you have already arranged must:
• Cover the full duration of your study in the UK including travel to and from your home country
• Include medical and repatriation cover up to £2m
• Include cancellation and curtailment cover to cover the cost of your trip, including cover to repay the cost of your course fees
Key Benefits
Cover for your personal belongings in the event they are loss, damaged or stolen during the duration of your course and whilst travelling to and from the UK
If you have to cancel your course, cut it short or repeat it due to an insurable reason such as accident or sickness, we will reimburse your prepaid course fees.
If you have to cancel or curtail your study due to accident, illness or sickness, you can claim back the costs of prepaid travel and accommodation expenses
Medical cover including emergency medical and dental treatment costs; repatriation to your home country if you are seriously ill or injured; bringing a relative to the student's location to visit following a medical emergency
What isn’t covered
Treatment or surgery which, in the opinion of the medical professional in attendance, can wait until your return home
Any medication you need which was known about before your departure
Any situation or circumstance known prior to booking your trip that may result in you cancelling or suddenly stopping your course and having to make a claim.
Valuables which are left unattended at any time, unless these items are in a safety deposit box, or in your locked accommodation.
Baggage left unattended in a motor vehicle between 9pm and 9am, unless in a locked car boot or covered from view in a locked car.
Personal money or your passport if left unattended at any time – unless in a hotel safe, safety deposit box, or in your locked accommodation.
