Undergraduate Foundation Programme

English requirements

  • from 4.5 IELTS or equivalent, with no single element less than 4.0, for 3-term UFP *

*Extended programmes are available if you do not yet have the required English language level. This programme lasts 4 terms and includes an English language module (ELM) followed by the 3 terms of Foundation required to apply for entry to the first year of your undergraduate degree.

Integrated CAS access route

 

My ONCAMPUS Course is ‘with Integrated CAS’ – what does it mean?

This programme is set at RQF level 6 (UFP and IY1)  and your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) will be issued by the London South Bank University to cover the full duration of your degree. You will still be required to meet all the progression requirements after your ONCAMPUS programme to be admitted onto subsequent year(s) of the degree. On successful completion of your ONCAMPUS programme and for progression onto subsequent years of the degree programme, you will not need to re-apply for a Visa.

 

How long will I study for?

Undergraduate Foundation Programme with Integrated CAS

The duration of the ONCAMPUS Course is one academic year, plus a further 3 years of study at degree level. Whilst studying with ONCAMPUS, your year is divided into three terms of approximately 10 weeks per term. On average, you will undertake a minimum of 16 (and up to a maximum of 22) hours* of classroom-based study per week. International Year One with Integrated CAS

The duration of the ONCAMPUS Course is one academic year, followed by 2 years of study delivered by the London South Bank University. Whilst studying with ONCAMPUS, your year is divided into three terms of approximately 10 weeks per term. You will undertake a minimum of 17 (and up to a maximum of 23) hours* of classroom-based study per week. Full details on modules, dates and fees for IY1 with Integrated CAS can be found here.

*please note that minimum and maximum hours are estimated, hours may vary depending on the student’s academic and English level and may be adjusted throughout their course.

What will I study?

Depending on your programme, you will study an integrated timetable of academic and English language modules.

The ONCAMPUS course will allow you to improve your English while learning the study skills and research methods that you will need during your degree studies. For a full description of the modules, please visit our Undergraduate Foundation Programme or International Year One pages.

Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours.

How will I be assessed?

Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate term. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and will allow you to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in the University environment. Assessments will include project work, essays, reports, presentations and written examinations.

 

iCAS Entry Requirements

Academic entry requirements are the same as the non-iCAS Undergraduate Foundation Programme and the International Year One programme requirements, which can be found at the top of this page.

For Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP) and International Year One (IY1) iCAS programmes, students will need to achieve a minimum English level of CEFR B2 (equivalent to IELTS 5.5 no element below 5.5).
