Mon 08 Feb 2016

Cambridge Education Group announces further expansion of its European offer with a new partner for their successful ONCAMPUS Amsterdam centre, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) places emphasis on training students to become the top professionals of tomorrow. Practical orientated research is an important component of the international educational programmes offered through the International Business School. Their research addresses real-life problems from the professional field in close collaboration with both academics and professionals working in this particular discipline.

AUAS has 250 partner institutes across 50 different countries and contributes to various educational projects such as curriculum development, research projects, student/professor exchanges and work placements within an international working field. This ensures that the education provided by the International Business School of AUAS is truly internationally orientated.

Students enrolling in the ONCAMPUS Amsterdam programme will study a rigorous one-year Undergraduate Foundation course. Successful students will have the opportunity to progress onto AUAS’s international business degrees. The new partnership expands the number of progression opportunities for ONCAMPUS Amsterdam students, who are already able to progress to degrees at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), a top 100 world ranked university[1] UvA and AUAS share the same board of directors.

Holland was the first non-English speaking country to offer courses taught in English and is growing in popularity with international students. In 2014/15 over 90,000 international students were studying in the Netherlands, with one in ten students in financed Dutch higher education being an international student[2]. Amsterdam is an attractive destination for students, providing access to globally recognised prestigious university degrees in a vibrant and attractive city with strong international connections.

Bjorn Martin van den Berg, Associate Director Business Development at AUAS, said, “The International Business School is particularly proud to welcome ONCAMPUS into our faculty to enable international students to acquire skills and competencies to succeed in tomorrows labour market. We feel confident that our unique and proven approach to business education will meet ONCAMPUS students’ expectations of studying at a university of applied sciences while living in the cosmopolitan city Amsterdam.”

Fergus Brownlee, Chief Executive of Cambridge Education Group, said, “We are exceptionally pleased to announce this expansion to our ONCAMPUS Amsterdam centre. Holland is a growing destination for International Students and our new partnership with Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences enables us to offer more options for students seeking to study in this great European city.”

The first students intending to progress to AUAS will enrol in their ONCAMPUS Amsterdam programme in September 2016.
