Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
The Master’s Qualifying Programme prepares you for postgraduate study at the University of Amsterdam. After successfully completing this one-year (2 semester) programme, you will have guaranteed* progression to:
- MSc Accountancy and Control
- MSc Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance
- MSc Business Administration
- MSc Business Economics
- MSc Data Science and Business Analytics
- MSc Econometrics
- MSc Economics
You will study your Qualifying programme at the heart of the University of Amsterdam campus, and attend classes with students from the university.

Who is this programme designed for?
This programme is designed to prepare international graduates for entry to Master's level studies at the University of Amsterdam.
How long will I study for?
This programme lasts one academic year (nine months). You will undertake up to 25 hours of classroom-based study per week.
What will I study?
This programme includes English and up to seven academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately for those who need additional support to develop their English language ability.
There are four academic pathways to choose from and you will study the pathway most suited to your chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare you for university study.
Entry criteria:
English level: 6.0 IELTS (with no element lower than 5.5)
Minimum age: 21+
Academic requirements: Academic Bachelor Degree in a related subject and with good grades.
Economics pathway: Please provide GRE with all sections completed and with a score of 155 in Quantitative Reasoning or a GMAT with all sections completed and with a score of 48 in Quantitative Reasoning.
Business pathway: Please provide a GMAT if your degree is not related or if your Bachelor degree had limited Quantitative Research methods content.*
