When you successfully complete the ONCAMPUS Amsterdam programme you have the opportunity to progress to a choice of English-taught undergraduate and master's degrees at the University of Amsterdam.

Undergraduate degrees:

BSc Actuarial Science

The University of Amsterdam welcomes applications from ONCAMPUS Amsterdam students that have successfully completed their Undergraduate Foundation Programme. The BSc Actuarial Science is a three-year interdisciplinary full-time degree, completely taught in English.

  • For students with a strong interest and skills in quantitative, mathematical and statistical matters.
  • You will learn to make complex considerations involved in risk management. Actuaries use theory to study uncertain future events such as interest rates, inflation and demographics alongside ethical and legal impacts.
  • The study programme is aligned to today’s needs and demands. UvA is the only university offering both BSc and MSc in Actuarial Science.
  • You will benefit from the quality of your UvA degree and education, with promising career prospects.
  • There is an honours programme available for excellent students, who are able to achieve an honours diploma in addition to the undergraduate degree.
You will study:

Year 1: The first year is all about your basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics and economics. You will orientate yourself towards the quantitative economics programmes of Actuarial Science and Econometrics & Operations Research. You will learn to work with advanced mathematical and statistical software such as Matlab, R and Eviews. The first two years of the programme will be spent together with students of the Bachelor’s programme in Econometrics and Operations Research. Therefore, after the second year, you can also choose to switch to this Bachelor’s programme.

Year 2 and 3: You will take courses such as Probability Theory & Statistics, Mathematical Economics and Finance. You will also take introductory actuarial courses relating to life insurance, general insurance and pensions. You will become familiar with the mathematical translation and clarification of financial and economic problems encountered by insurers, pension funds and other financial institutions and government bodies. You will also take a number of electives. The programme is concluded with a thesis, following which you will be awarded the title Bachelor of Science (BSc).

*For guaranteed progression to BSc Actuarial Science you will need to achieve:

  • 6.5 IELTS or equivalent, with no single element below 6.0
  • 60% average across three academic subjects (at least 40% in all academic subjects)
  • You must achieve 80% average across Advanced Maths Module 1, 2 and 4 or do the Advanced Maths entrance test and achieve 75%

BSc Business Administration (non-guaranteed)

This is a three-year full-time degree, completely taught in English, for students who see themselves working for a multinational corporation, a start-up company, a consultancy or a business-facing government agency.

There are a restricted number of places available on this degree programme, therefore progression is not guaranteed. However, you will have the opportunity to apply to this degree as part of the university selection process. 

This degree covers functional elements of businesses and organisations, from finance, marketing, accounting and strategy to international management, business ethics, and innovation management.

There are opportunities to spend one semester at one of 100 foreign partner universities, such as the University of New York, the University of Melbourne or Copenhagen Business School.

You will study:

Year 1: All students master the academic undergraduate basics of business needed for solving business problems. Students acquire writing, presentation and research skills from studying the four main disciplines of Organisation, People, Economics and Methods.

Year 2 and 3: Students choose to study deeper into business functions. Students are encouraged to complete an international exchange period and study at one of the many high-level partner universities of the College of Economics and Business worldwide.

Applicants are also subject to a selection procedure, consisting of a selection test.

BSc Business Analytics

The BSc Business Analytics is a new Bachelor's developed in response to the rapidly-growing demand for Business Analysts in the job market.

It is a three-year interdisciplinary full-time degree, completely taught in English, for students with a strong skills in mathematics, an interest in how organisations work and who enjoy analytical thinking.

The University of Amsterdam welcomes applications from ONCAMPUS Amsterdam students that have successfully completed their Undergraduate Foundation Programme.

For guaranteed progression to BSc Business Analytics you will need to achieve:

  • 6.5 IELTS or equivalent, with no single element below 6.0
  • 60% average across three academic subjects (at least 40% in all academic subjects)
  • You must achieve 80% average across Advanced Maths Module 1, 2 and 4 or do the Advanced Maths entrance test and achieve 75%

BSc Econometrics and Data Science

The University of Amsterdam welcomes applications from ONCAMPUS Amsterdam students that have successfully completed their Undergraduate Foundation Programme. The BSc Econometrics and Data Sciece is a three-year interdisciplinary full-time degree, completely taught in English, and includes a talent development programme and support and advice from a personal tutor.

  • For students with a strong interest and skills in quantitative, mathematical and statistical matters.
  • You will analyse economic reality using mathematical models, translating the results into economic policy. The labour market is crying out for Econometrists and operations research and management specialists.
  • Small class sizes create a strong sense of community. Mentoring and group study supports your development throughout the programme.
  • There is an honours programme available for excellent students, who are able to achieve an honours diploma in addition to the undergraduate degree.
You will study:

Year 1: The first year is all about your basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics and economics. You will orientate yourself towards the quantitative economics programmes of Econometrics. You will learn to work with Microsoft Excel, as well as more advanced mathematical and statistical software such as Matlab and Eviews.

Year 2 and 3: You will take mandatory courses such as Mathematics, Econometrics, Optimisation and ProbabilityTheory and Statistics. In this third year, you will also take electives. You will specialise in either Econometrics or ORM. The Econometrics degree programme will be concluded with a thesis, in which you can research a subject that you find particularly interesting. In ORM, your thesis is based on a practical assignment.

BSc Economics and Business Economics

The University of Amsterdam offers guaranteed progression* to ONCAMPUS Amsterdam students. The BSc Economics and Business Economics is a three-year full-time degree, completely taught in English.

  • For students with a keen interest in the complexity of the global economy.
  • You can choose to specialise in Economics or Business Economics.
  • In tutorials you will discuss certain aspects from the lectures and literature in groups of about 35–40 students.
  • In practicals you will do assignments, write papers and give presentations in groups of about 25–30 students.
  • There are opportunities to spend one semester at one of 100 foreign partner universities, such as the University of New York, the University of Melbourne or Copenhagen Business School.
You will study:

Year 1: All students cover, among other things, the academic undergraduate basics of economics and business economics. Students acquire writing, presentation and research skills.

Year 2 and 3: Students choose to specialise in Economics or Business Economics. Students are encouraged to complete an international exchange period and study at one of the many high-level partner universities of the College of Economics and Business worldwide.

Economics: Specialising in Economics gives students broad knowledge as well as analytical insight into the field of economics. The focus is on the functioning of markets and the relationship between the market and government. Topics include:

  • Macroeconomics

Business Economics: Students take an interdisciplinary approach to understand the complex issues facing businesses today. Topics covered include:

  • Corporate Law
  • Strategy
  • Financial
  • Management Accounting

MSc Accountancy and Control

MSc Accountancy and Control prepares you for a career in accountancy or financial management. The programme offers you a challenging combination of academic training and the application of international financial and reporting standards to complex real-life business cases. 

MSc Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance

MSc Business Administration

This academic master’s programme aims to be the gateway for ambitious students with an entrepreneurial, global mind-set to an international career in business. You will be challenged to solve real life cases presented by our corporate partners. You will also gain a deep understanding of management in one of the seven specialisations you can choose from.

MSc Business Economics

This academic master’s programme teaches students to analyse the functioning of corporations and other organisations from a clear microeconomic perspective, both internally and in the market context in which they operate. The programme places a strong emphasis on an analytical and quantitative approach and way of thinking so that graduates are able to conduct research in Business Economics subjects.

MSc Data Science and Business Analytics

Learn how to solve business-related problems using computational approaches and techniques, advanced analytics and data science; a highly sought-after combination on the job market. As a graduate of the MSc Data Science and Business Analytics you will acquire a unique combination of skills and the latest techniques for the first steps in your professional career.

MSc Econometrics

The Master in Econometrics (MSc) deals with statistical modelling, estimation and testing of economic models using economic and financial time series data.

The Master’s in Econometrics offers you the option to choose one of four top-level academic specialisation tracks. Choose the Econometrics track of the Econometrics Master's programme, and you'll dive into the advanced mathematics behind economic complexity. This track deals with modelling, estimation and testing of economic models using micro, macro and financial data as well as parametric and non-parametric techniques appropriate for cross section, time series and panel.

MSc Economics

The Master of Science in Economics has a strong international emphasis and offers a wide range of specialisations ranging from theoretical to applied.
The programme provides you with an advanced level of understanding of the economics core (microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics) in combination with an upper advanced level of understanding in your chosen specialisation.
