The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences is one of the oldest institutes of business education in the Netherlands.
The University is in the southeastern part of Amsterdam, close to many international companies and next to the Ajax soccer stadium, Amsterdam ArenA. The Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station is a few minutes away and has excellent connections to the centre of Amsterdam and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. A short journey from the shops and restaurants in the city centre, it is the perfect base to enrich your student experience.

Clubs and societies

The International Business School hosts and supports student associations and clubs. The Student Society International Business School (SSIBS) offers students academic, career, international and social opportunities.
ISN is an organisation run by Dutch students for international students studying at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the University of Amsterdam. Their goal is to optimize the social-cultural integration of international students into Dutch society. They organize weekly activities for students, provide information on housing and work, run a coaching and mentoring system and publish a magazine all about (student) life in Amsterdam.
The University Sports Centre is a shared facility between the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the University of Amsterdam. It is located in the Amsterdam Science Park, it is open seven days a week and boasts a large gym, several halls, a climbing hall, squash courts, a sauna and the sports bar ‘Eetcafé Oerknal’.
You can take part in a wide range of sports at special student rates. These include tennis, fitness, fencing, karate, ice-skating, indoor climbing, hockey, volleyball, basketball, horse riding, yoga, canoeing and water polo.
CREA organises courses and workshops in music, theatre, dance, visual arts, photography, literature and new media. CREA also organises a weekly Studium Generale programme on subjects related to art, science and society.
