I have no previous job experience, so the foundation programme is very important for me to help me progress to university. 

My English has improved so much since I started here, especially in the academic sector, so I know everything I need to know for my Master’s. 

The teachers and staff are so helpful, especially when I first arrived, helping me settle into a new culture. I meet with my tutor every Monday just to chat and help me with anything I have trouble with.” 

“I have always had a keen interest in the Japanese language and culture. I initially wanted to go direct to UCLan as they had the degree that I was looking for. After researching and speaking to the staff it was clear that I needed to improve my English and gain more experience in studying in the UK. The UK has taught me a lot culturally and I feel really happy here. I have met a lot of different students who have helped my studies in many different ways.

The ONCAMPUS course is preparing me well, I am developing my communication and academic skills for my degree. The course I want to progress to offers a one-year placement in Japan, this will support my learning of the language and enable me to experience the culture first hand.

Alongside studying, UCLan offers many clubs and societies, I am currently part of the Japanese and Asian society and this has helped me to meet more students from Asia and develop my cultural knowledge here in the UK.”

This is a good course as it covers a wide range of subjects; from computing, programming to mechanics. I have found Research Methods useful as I am now able to complete assignments to my full potential.
