"There is a huge library here at Birkbeck, which is very useful preparation for my study of economics.

The Personal Development Planning (PDP) course is a compulsory module on the UFP, and it has built my motivation. I am keen on self-analysis, looking at my strengths and weaknesses - PDP gives me a place for doing this.

I have made friends with students from China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and South Korea on the foundation course. London ONCAMPUS helped me find my accommodation in London, and I enjoy the mix of flatmates I have - they are from Belgium, Germany, Malaysia and Holland."

I feel very good and comfortable studying here at London ONCAMPUS. The teachers are really experienced and helpful and they encourage me to improve and correct my weaknesses.  

During the Foundation Programme we get the chance to visit the universities we are thinking of applying to.  I recently visited Queen Mary’s with my classmates to learn about the university, its history and to see its facilities.  Royal Holloway also came to visit London ONCAMPUS to give us information about their courses, and with the help of the Higher Education team here I have applied to both of these University of London colleges as they are excellent universities for my subject.

I love London for a number of reasons. It resembles Singapore... Like a melting pot. I can meet people from all different backgrounds, which is ideal for studying. I like the flexible teaching methods and greater choice of subjects.

I like that we have a destination in mind but no fixed route. You are encouraged to give your own touch to the work without straying from the goal.

Without London ONCAMPUS, securing a place at University would have been impossible. The help with UCAS applications was excellent through explorations in tutorials and during the induction. I liked the subject tutors adding academic information on to the personal statement. Without London ONCAMPUS I wouldn’t have been successful.

Before coming to ONCAMPUS London I was studying my BA in Law and Politics in Japan. Living in London is great because of the architecture and multi-cultural society where I have been able to meet lots of new people. The staff at ONCAMPUS London are very kind and always available to help. I have been offered a place at Goldsmiths to complete my Master’s in Political Communication. I will be recommending this course to my friends.

Everyone I have met so far at ONCAMPUS London has been very friendly, supportive and they are always there for you whenever you need help. I am living in the Tufnell House which is great and very comfortable and has increased my independence. At ONCAMPUS you attend one hour a week of very detailed Higher Education classes that are essential for all students applying to University; and this has helped me a lot. I have been offered my first choice at Loughborough to study Media and Communication, as well as City University and Sussex.

This is a great place for people to develop themselves. The teachers are friendly and very passionate about their subjects, and the comfortable class sizes benefit students as the teachers can give them individual attention. London ONCAMPUS is part of Birkbeck College and the University of London, so we can take part in activities and have access to lots of materials. You can see real university life.

I would recommend the college to friends because I have good experience of the college. It’s a great place for people to develop themselves. London ONCAMPUS has a good relationship with Birkbeck, Queen Mary, Goldsmiths, Royal Holloway and the Institute of Education, all of which are part of the University of London, so if you want to go to those universities, studying at London ONCAMPUS will help you. Just the other day, Queen Mary came here and gave a talk to students. The talk gave me inside information that other students will not get.

 

Close I have enjoyed learning about Research Methods as I had no experience learning about how to write an essay, but this course has given me a lot of information to prepare for a Master’s course.

The best thing was how to write an academic essay and academic research, the referencing as well. If I didn’t take this programme I worry that I would fail my Master’s.

London has many galleries, museums and other cultural facilities. I really like paintings that we don’t see in South Korea. Whenever I have time I can go to Tate Britain and the National Gallery. London is the best city in the world! So many landmarks!

ONCAMPUS London is based at Birkbeck which is great with lots of facilities. The teachers are so kind and helpful it makes the subjects even more interesting. I have found the diverse environment very enlightening and I have enjoyed experiencing the different cultures. I have been offered my first choice at London School of Economics and Political Science which is a dream for me. When I graduate I would like to go into Investment Banking. I will recommend ONCAMPUS London to my friends – you have to work hard but it is really worth it.

The staff at ONCAMPUS London are great and they are always available to support in any way. It is not just about the academics here; I feel that this experience has inspired me and made me more mature and independent. I have received offers from City University, Queen Mary and Brunel to study Business. ONCAMPUS London Higher Education advisors gave me a lot of assistance and advice to guide me to decide which universities I should apply to which I really appreciated – I wouldn’t have these offers without them.

London has so many opportunities and things to do with unlimited access to information from lectures, Libraries and Museums. My experience has been exciting with all of the new topics and modules I have studied. Even though it has been challenging at different stages, the course is very well structured and extremely interesting. After completing my degree I hope to go onto studying a Master’s Degree programme and go on to find a job as a Financial Analyst in London.

The Master’s Foundation Programme has helped me develop my ability in writing, research and oral presentations – like a bridge to help me prepare for the Master’s level.

One of the most helpful things about studying at London ONCAMPUS is that they make a plan for us, like a timeline of when we need to do each thing and have our documents fully prepared. Lizzie helped by calling Royal Holloway to find out about my application. 

It is great to be in London where you can get first-hand information about universities and visit them easily. It is very convenient here, you can get everything you need, free lectures or university fairs and open days –it makes it easy to approach academics.

Before I came here, I had no idea about writing essays and I was scared. All my lecturers at London ONCAMPUS teach us how to write essays and give detailed help on referencing and writing a bibliography. It also gives me a chance to learn about others ideas and exchange views.

I had no idea how to make my University application or write the personal statement. Staff at London ONCAMPUS taught me everything, all the way from the beginning up to when I got an offer. The staff are very passionate about the students applications and I really appreciate that.

Writing Literary reviews and essays was quite difficult for me, but the Master’s Foundation Programme at London ONCAMPUS is really helping me learn how to do this.

It is very useful to learn academic skills which I can use next year. Adjusting to life in London has been really important too. Learning how to live and study in the UK.

I enjoy studying in London. It’s the capital of the UK and it’s good to learn about UK culture. The college is really convenient, I also find London really convenient, it has a very modern transport system and some great restaurants.

The main reason I came to London ONCAMPUS was to get into a University of London college – Queen Mary’s, Royal Holloway or Goldsmiths. They have a great reputation. Also, London FoundationCampus is in central London – a great privilege.

I absolutely love living in London! I love the West End. It’s the most comfortable city in the world. Great atmosphere – so busy. What I like the most is walking at 6 am and not being scared about going outside.

I like that I’ve learnt to structure essays and do academic research and to write a dissertation. I’m very happy I took this course I know I would have struggled if I hadn’t. Here it’s all about critical thinking whereas essays are very descriptive in Ukraine. This course is a great opportunity to get prepared.
