International Diploma Programme
"I chose ONCAMPUS because of the guaranteed progression as I was ready for my degree; I have been in the UK for 3 years studying at Saudi College. I was recommended this course by my sister who has previously studied at Coventry University. It has a good reputation and has increased its ranking in the last few years. The facilities are modern, especially the new engineering building, it makes me more excited to learn.
I enjoy spending time in the hub with all my friends; it’s a nice relaxing place. We also rent out the local sports centre to play football every weekend.
Before choosing what course I wanted to progress onto I met students from the university and went to an open evening where I saw the great facilities and spoke to tutors which made me sure this was what I wanted to study.
I have big plans for my future, I want to do my masters in Communications Engineering and go back to Saudi Arabia to work, once I have some experience I want to complete my PhD and become a specialist in this field."
Master's Foundation Programme
I chose to study at Coventry ONCAMPUS because this is one of the only universities that had the Master’s course in my degree specialism. The fact that I have guaranteed progression is fantastic; I know that if I work hard and pass my course I can get a place onto the course.
I have a good friends mix, learning about different cultures is fun!
I have made a huge improvement with my English, I feel confident speaking to people, and I am able to explain myself better. I have travelled across the country, to different cities; I have enjoyed the different landmarks I have seen along the way.
This course has been so helpful for my future; I have already recommended my friend to do this course!
Undergraduate Foundation Programme
"The staff at Coventry ONCAMPUS are really helpful, especially when I needed help with my accommodation and my degree choice I made. They went through all my options which really helped me.
The course pushes me and I have learnt so much, I feel like I’m improving a lot, especially in Economics, as I haven’t covered it before in my home country.
I have learnt a great deal, especially my English, my vocabulary has increased and I feel confident to speak to people.
I would definitely recommend a student thinking of a career in humanities like me, the course is awesome."
The education system in the UK is of a very high standard and I thought it would be a great experience to study here. I’m really happy with ONCAMPUS Coventry, everyone is always ready to help, the teachers are incedibly motivating, which I think is very important, and almost take a unique approach for each student. If you don’t understand how something has been explained, they will try a different way. The style of teaching is different in the UK, teachers communicate with us, allowing us to discuss our opinions and put them into practice rather than us just reading the theory.
“We get to try lots of different areas of Art & Design, most of them at the University in the workshops and studios of Coventry’s School of Art & Design”
I had studied a business foundation course at another university but during I knew business wasn’t for me. I found the details of the Art ONCAMPUS on the internet and was attracted by the chance to try lots of different areas of Art and Design to help me decide what area to specialise in. On the Foundation programme I have already tried printmaking, woodwork, fashion and metalwork but I am still not sure what area I want to major in. I do know though that whichever degree I choose I am guaranteed a place when I successfully complete this programme.
"This is the first time in the UK, Coventry is small and quiet and everything is close which I like. I can get all the help I need and feel like I am learning a lot.
I chose Coventry ONCAMPUS because of the guaranteed progression and Coventry has a great reputation and ranking. My accommodation is really close which makes it easy for me to get around to campus and Coventry city centre.
ONCAMPUS have given me a lot of opportunities to improve my English and learn about subjects that interest me. I am currently completing a project in petroleum which is very insightful and is preparing me for my Master’s.
I have met tutors who will be teaching me next year, they are very nice and helpful and I know that I will enjoy it."
International Foundation Programme
The teachers at ONCAMPUS are always available for you to ask questions. The way they teach is hands on so you don’t just sit and write notes, it is much more interactive, we watch videos, use the internet and can download the lesson notes, schemes of work, homework, background notes and course information at the end of the day from Moodle - our Virtual Learning Environment. We’re taught creative writing, how to reflect on our work or theories but also the basics such as essay layout and presentation format. I’ve really enjoyed studying with students from different parts of the world and have learnt a lot from them about their lives and cultures and, despite our differences, how much we have in common.
Guaranteed progression to Coventry University is very important to me. At home in Nigeria, it’s always a dream to come and study in England, and Coventry in particular, because there’s a great history of Africans studying here and a lot of good stories about this University. There are also good courses that I can use to progress in my academic life and future.
When I first got here, I thought I should start my Master’s course immediately, but now I understand the importance of studying at ONCAMPUS first. It prepares you for your Master’s programme, and helps you to improve your analysis skills and teaches you how to prepare your project proposals. It also helps you with your English. I already have good English, but it’s good learning a little bit more as well as learning about the culture.
I have friends who have started their Master’s course straight away and they’re having problems because they haven’t had this preparation, but ONCAMPUS helps you to integrate yourself into the new academic environment.
"Studying at ONCAMPUS is the first time that I have come to the UK, I love the historical buildings and it’s a nice place to live in. I like Coventry and live close to the campus which makes it easy for me.
When I arrived I couldn’t speak very good English, it has improved a lot so I can communicate better. The teachers are good and I have made friends from all over the world. I am part of the football team at Coventry which is fun and I really enjoy it, when I get time I also go to London by train as it is so easy to get too from here.
If you want to study in a good location, improve your English and meet lots of new people I would recommend Coventry ONCAMPUS."
"I was recommended to study at Coventry ONCAMPUS by my friend when I was looking for a safe, small city to complete my studies. I previously studied in the US and learnt a lot about the American culture, so I wanted to do the same in the UK. I applied through the website, which was easy and I got an email straight away from the admissions team. They answered all my questions and were very helpful.
Having guaranteed progression to Coventry University was really helpful to me as I know if I work hard I can progress onto the course I want to study. I have learnt new things, such as researching as I didn’t have to do this before in my own country, so this will be useful for university.
When I complete my degree I want to go back to Korea to help with my family business."
I really appreciate the approachability of staff here, I like that when I have a problem I can go and speak to someone about it, whether that’s a teacher or management staff. The learning style here gives me the opportunity to do a lot of independent study and improve my time management skills. ONCAMPUS for me, has been very empowering and given me the opportunity to express my opinions. I definitely want to go back to Botswana and work with the Olympic committee (who I have worked with before) and under-piviledged children in some capacity when I graduate.
"I have travelled to the UK before I came to ONCAMPUS, I have heard the education in the UK is one of the best. I have developed my communication skills; it has helped with my knowledge and research. The assignments on the course really help and will prepare me for my degree.
I have been taught necessary things such as, how to use the library, which will help me with my studies. In my spare time, I play snooker and watch movies with my friends. A lot of them are from the ONCAMPUS course.
After I have completed my degree, I want to study my Master’s. This has given me the confidence to continue my education in what I am interested in."
English Language Preparation Programme
I had already gained a UK-accredited degree in Hong Kong but I think the MQP really helped improve my writing skills and how to organise my essays better thanks to work done in the classes and the feedback from my tutor and teachers. I now feel I am doing well on my Master’s degree which will help me.
When I get back to Hong Kong I plan to go into Wealth Management and I am sure the MSc Finance qualification from Coventry University will really help me secure my future.
I think Coventry is a great place to live and study, with it being a safe city, having better air quality than in my home of Hong Kong, and it’s close to the bigger cities of Birmingham and London where I often spend my weekends shopping and sightseeing.
I wanted to study in the UK because of the quality of education provided - especially in the health care sector. I like the teachers at ONCAMPUS, a lot of them have worked with international students before and understand our needs. In the UK the learning style is different, we have group discussions, presentations and interactive learning is promoted. This approach has taught me to study more independently in comparison to my studies in India. I am very happy with my accommodation, it’s close to the University and the common room is great. I am thinking of doing a Master’s degree after I finish my Undergraduate degree. It has been hard work but I would recommend this course to international students.
I chose Coventry University because there are lots of international students, and a mix of nationalities. Before I came to the UK I wasn’t familiar with all the different cultures but this has opened my eyes.
I visit the gym often as its close to campus and go out with my friends on the course a lot – it’s like a community. I have travelled all over the country, I especially like Scotland, it has great scenery!
