Getting ready for January enrolment at ONCAMPUS

Fri 12 Jan 2018

This is an exciting time for new students, getting ready for your January enrolment at ONCAMPUS. There may be a lot unknowns and uncertainties, but don’t worry at ONCAMPUS we are here to help you!

For a comprehensive checklist of everything you need to bring before starting your studies, you can download our excellent and free Pre Arrival App available at the Google Play store or Apple iTunes store.

There is a Pre-Arrival App for each of our centres and each app has been designed to support your arrival to your ONCAMPUS study destination. Once you have downloaded the app, have your Student ID (CEG number starting with 080) ready to sign in.

Planning your trip

You should plan to arrive in the UK the weekend before the ‘arrival date’ that is listed in the CAS statement or Confirmation of Enrolment letter. If you are an international student from outside the European Union, you will need to apply for a UK visa before you leave, at a British Diplomatic Post. Visas can be issued up to 3 months before your arrival date in the UK and can take up to 3 weeks to process, so make sure you apply in plenty of time before your departure date. For more information about visas, see our comprehensive guide to Visa Applications

Please inform us of your arrival plans and flight details as soon as you have them ready. This is especially important, if you are going to arrive late.

Next, book your accommodation. You can make your own accommodation arrangements or apply for accommodation at the campus where you are studying. Please book accommodation as early as possible, since rooms are limited and are offered on a first-come basis.

What to expect when you arrive in the UK

Make sure you carry all your documents with you in your hand luggage, as the immigration officer at the Passport Control may ask to see them. Have ready: passport, bank statement, CAS statement, proof of accommodation, proof of financial support and any fees paid, TB certificate (if you come from one the countries listed here), original academic documents (translations if they are not in English), and IELTS certificate.

Once you have completed your immigration procedure, pick-up your luggage and head towards your campus and check into your accommodation.

Enrolment and student life

Once you are settled, you will need to enrol and attend the induction programme. When you enrol, please make sure you bring the following documents with you: original passport, original academic documents, and original IELTS test certificate.

The induction programme will help you get oriented around campus and answer any questions or concerns you may have. At the end of the induction programme, we always organise a social event, so you can meet some of your follow students and tutors in a relaxed environment.
