10 Most Beautiful Places in the UK

The UK has so many spectacularly beautiful places to visit that it is hard to shortlist it to a few so this list is made up of places that the GB Mag team love and would recommend you visit

Ben Nevis – Scotland

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles and snow can be found here all year around. If you are into climbing, skiing or snowboarding this is the place to head to.  It is also a place of outstanding natural beauty that is perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature.

Kirkstone Pass – Lake District

Cross the Kirkstone Pass by car, bike or on foot to appreciate breath-taking views of the Lake District and visit the famous Kirkstone Pass Inn, near the summit, and enjoy a hearty, traditional food and local ales and beers – but be warned it is rumoured the Inn is haunted.

Thermae Bath Spa - Bath

Bath is a town set in the rolling countryside of southwest England, known for its natural hot springs and 18th-century Georgian architecture. It is home to Britain's only natural thermal spa where you can relax in the warm healing waters and take in breath taking views of the historical town.

The Falls of Edinample - Stirling

The Falls of Edinample is a natural beauty spot located near Lochearnhead, Stirling. Take a walk around the nearby village, admire the surroundings or enjoy some exhilarating watersports on the loch.

Giant Causeway – Northern Ireland

The large columns, of all sizes, that rise from the sea to form stepping stones are a natural phenomena caused by a volcanic eruption. The 40,000 interlocking columns are World Heritage Site.

Portmerion Village – Wales

Designed in 1925, by Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmerion is one of the most unique villages in the UK and looks more Italian than British. It also rose to fame as the beautiful backdrop to the 1970s hit TV show ‘The Prisoner’.

Jersey

Jersey isn’t officially part of the UK but we wanted to include this destination anyway for its uniqueness. Whilst it is an English-speaking territory it has a mix of British and French cultures and is known for its beaches, walking trails along cliffs, nland valleys and castles, including Elizabeth Castle – which defended Jersey for more than 400 years and is only accessible at low tide by foot or the castle ferry.

Eden Project – Cornwall

Cornwall which is dubbed as the ‘Cornish riveria’ for its good weather, sandy beaches and rugged cliffs is also home to the Eden Project, which a large bubble like greenhouses that showcase plants from around the plant.

Salcombe – Devon

This postcard perfect village has pretty pastel coloured houses and is known as the sailing capital of Devon. It is a great place to come to admire the natural beauty of this coast line, the cute little village and the impressive sailing boats during the annual Regatta.

Cleveland Way – North Yorkshire

The coastline of North Yorkshire is magical whatever time of year with dramatic cliffs and moorland filled with brightly coloured heather. It can take several days to hike the whole route but you can do sections that will take you through the attractive market town of Helmsley and the famous seaside town of Scarborough.
