Undergraduate Foundation Programme
Before I came to the UK I studied at High School in Kenya.
The student union at LSBU is a good place for students to meet, chat, play pool and socialise.
Being at ONCAMPUS enables me to meet friends, find out more about living in London and about the University and the course before I join LSBU.
"I chose to study in Sunderland because it’s a small city where I can focus on my studies and everything is close proximity. I live in private accommodation which is close to the campus so its easy to get around, especially, with the free bus service. I love that it's so easy to travel in the UK; I have visited lots of nice towns and cities.
Once I complete my degree programme at University of Sunderland, I want to go back to Kuwait and become a Pharmacist."
ELPP, followed by UFP Engineering
Applying for: BEng Electronic Engineering at Queen Mary
"I’ve learnt a lot of new skills at London ONCAMPUS, such as how to manage my time and think positively. The majority of students come directly from high school, so the Personal Development Planning course is really useful for this.
The academic feeling of studying at Birkbeck is something I like. The teachers here communicate with us as elder brothers and sisters, making it easy for us to cope with life in London. Most of my classmates do not speak Arabic, which is good for my English."
The team at ONCAMPUS Hull work hard to make it comfortable for all students, everyone gets on really well and there is good communication between staff and students. I am a student rep so I am the voice of the students, we meet twice a month and it enables us to see what differences are being made and how we can make it an exceptional experience for everyone. This course has made me more organised as you have to work hard and plan your time effectively. My English skills have also improved a lot, which means it will be easier for me to find a job after completing my degree.
"The teachers at ONCAMPUS have helped me a lot with my studies and given me a lot more confidence. All the staff are very friendly, and they have always been supportive with any query that I have had.
UCLan has so much to offer; I am a member of the drama society, this is great as I get to meet lots of new people and I really enjoy it.
ONCAMPUS has been a very good introduction to the start of my University life."
International Diploma Programme
"I chose ONCAMPUS because of the guaranteed progression as I was ready for my degree; I have been in the UK for 3 years studying at Saudi College. I was recommended this course by my sister who has previously studied at Coventry University. It has a good reputation and has increased its ranking in the last few years. The facilities are modern, especially the new engineering building, it makes me more excited to learn.
I enjoy spending time in the hub with all my friends; it’s a nice relaxing place. We also rent out the local sports centre to play football every weekend.
Before choosing what course I wanted to progress onto I met students from the university and went to an open evening where I saw the great facilities and spoke to tutors which made me sure this was what I wanted to study.
I have big plans for my future, I want to do my masters in Communications Engineering and go back to Saudi Arabia to work, once I have some experience I want to complete my PhD and become a specialist in this field."
I chose to study at ONCAMPUS Amsterdam because the University of Amsterdam is one of the best, and most vibrant universities in the world.
Amsterdam is a safe city and because of the central location in Europe you can easily travel to other cities. Everybody speaks English to a high level so it is easy to speak with other Dutch people and they are very friendly. I have made lots of friends during the Undergraduate Foundation Programme from different parts of the world.
I decided to study at ONCAMPUS to prepare myself for the BSc Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam. Based on my experience, I would recommend the Undergraduate Foundation Programme to international students who want to enter the University of Amsterdam.
“My future plan is to make a landmark change. Not only in my potential career as a lawyer, but also in my dream to be someone who holds the key to global solutions”.
Adebayo believes there is nothing comparable to studying in the right place in the UK. He says that the staff and tutors have been instrumental in creating a good atmosphere for learning and that ONCAMPUS is “the right place at the right time for me as a student”.
PPLE stood out to me as a specialist course with a combination of modules that I was interested in. International Relations is my favourite subject as I enjoy learning about politics and social sciences in an international context. After my degree I would like to go into research, for instance, looking at voting behaviour and the mix between psychology and politics. I would absolutely recommend this course – you will need to work hard but it is a lively and easy going campus with everything you need to succeed!
“Studying at London ONCAMPUS has made me a more rounded and mature individual. I am able to articulate my essays and reports better and I feel much more confident.
The teachers are motivated and experienced, they have practical knowledge of the subjects because many of them have worked in the sector. This gives us an advantage over other foundation programmes. The atmosphere and small class sizes means that we get more time with the teachers and support is readily available, so I have learnt a lot in a short amount of time.
I live in university accommodation, it is really nice place to live and as a student ambassador I can mentor other students and support others that I live with.
In my spare time, I like to play polo and have recently started attending the Polo Club at Birkbeck which has enabled me to meet different students from the university.”
I have relatives who live in the Netherlands and they recommended that I study at the University of Amsterdam as it is a world top 100 university. The teachers at ONCAMPUS Amsterdam are really supportive and friendly, they are always happy to help and want you to get the best out of your studies. The facilities are brilliant, we have access to libraries across the city and they have long open hours which has really helped me to meet deadlines. It has been a fun experience and I hope it continues when I start my degree next year.
I decided to study at ONCAMPUS Hull because it offers guaranteed progression to a range of degrees. The teachers are
very understanding and supporting and we are able to learn from their industry knowledge. Hull is a great area to study
in, it is the City of Culture in 2017 so there are great developments and events coming up, it’s an exciting place to be. The
teachers and admin staff at the centre are very personable and want us to pass and succeed; they always listen to us and
help if we need anything. I hope to progress onto a Master’s programme after successfully completing my degree.
Field of Study: International Relations
"What I like most about ONCAMPUS Boston, is how the program is giving me the opportunity to transfer to any of my preferred university in USA.
My favorite thing about Wheelock College is the cafeteria. Is very organized, and some times I do get some food that have the same taste with the food I eat in my country. I have applied to Bryant University, American University, Goucher College, and University of Mary Washington."
Master's Foundation Programme
"ONCAMPUS has helped me not only academically but socially as well. I feel that I am able to communicate better with my improved English. I am more confident when speaking in class as well as writing essays.
I am a big fan on historical buildings so studying in London is a great place to be, I like to explore the city in my spare time when I have time aside from studying."
Progressing to Suffolk University
I like ONCAMPUS Boston because everything is in the same place and is very comfortable. Students live and study here. Also, the dining hall is on college territory, so students are never hungry. Students are friendly with each other and we all have close relationships with the ONCAMPUS Boston staff.
Progressing to University of Massachussetts
Before coming to ONCAMPUS Boston, I was worried I would not fit in because I was not from here, but the people I met changed my mind and in a few weeks I felt like I had a place I could call home.
English Language Preparation Programme
MFP BusinessApplying for: MSc Financial Engineering at Birkbeck
London ONCAMPUS is different to other places I have studied. You make progress throughout the course rather than just at the end. I like the study culture here and feel the course is tailored to each student’s needs.
The Master’s Foundation Programme has exceeded my expectations and provides a well-structured business course. I have learnt effective research skills, how to conduct primary research and prepare for presentations. The Personal Development Programme module has also really helped me with time management and mind management, which I am sure will be really useful skills when I progress on to my Master’s at Birkbeck. I also get the chance to join lectures at the London School of Economics; there are few places in the world where students can get pure tangible treasure from bright minds but these lectures are a must for all.
I decided to study in the UK as the UK education system is considered one of the best. The teachers here are very nice and helpful, they always take the time to explain the course and subjects very well. The English term has definitely helped me improve my language skills and to make me feel more confident when starting my degree. There are lots of different nationalities here too, so I have discovered new cultures and met new people. The University campus and city are close together so everything is near. When I finish my degree I would like to go into physiotherapy and work in Europe or UK.
